Care Pathways Option 1: Mindfulness Classes

Tame Your Thoughts

Do you feel trapped in a loop of worry or negative thoughts? Our Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) group classes help you step outside that loop. It’s like learning to be a calm observer of your own mind and tame your thoughts so they don’t control you. Each session delivers evidence-based mindfulness strategies so you can break free.

Unlike other groups you don’t have to share your story. Simply come and join a small group of up to 10 people led by a Senior Psychologist, Dr Tania Gibby, and learn skills without needing to share anything about your story. Focus on learning skills each week and walk away more confident and clear in your mind.

Our Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Groups run every term at 5:30pm on Wednesdays for 8 weeks at no cost to you.

Why Mindfulness Helps

  • Mindfulness teaches you to notice your thoughts without getting hooked by them. Over time, people often feel less anxious, less depressed and more able to focus.
  • Our clients frequently report feeling calmer, more confident, worrying less, and sleeping better after just a few weeks of practice.
  • Like exercise for the brain, mindfulness builds a calmer, more resilient mindset the more you practice.

What to Expect

  • A warm, non-judgmental group setting where you’re guided through simple mindfulness and gentle exercises.
  • No pressure to share your personal story — just come ready to learn and practise new skills.
  • Speak to your Psychologist if you are interested in joining one of our 5:30pm Wednesday 8-week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy group program.

Is the Mindfulness Group Care Pathway for Me?

The Mindfulness Group is great if you’re feeling overwhelmed by repetitive negative thoughts — such as in anxiety, panic attacks, ADHD, depression or low confidence. It teaches you to step back and see those thoughts more clearly, so they start to lose their power. Many people find they feel less stressed and get along better with whatever life brings after learning these skills.

Best for: Anxiety, panic attacks, ADHD, depression, low confidence, repetitive negative thoughts.

Care Pathway Option 2: Yoga

Activate Your Life

Not all of our clients want or need extra support in addition to their 1:1 therapy. But it is always good to be in a place that offers more support for the same price. If you are not getting better within the first two sessions, your Psychologist will offer one of three extra care pathways. You are empowered to decide if you want 1:1 therapy plus additional care pathway support or simply want 1:1 therapy by itself.

Feeling stressed, anxious or dealing with mood swings? Our Yoga for Mental Health classes are a gentle way to activate your body and calm your mind. You don’t need any yoga experience — just come as you are. Each class is led by a qualified psychologist who guides you through yoga to help you feel more grounded.

The Yoga Group, led by Clinical Psychologist Amelia Shanahan, offers a calm and supportive space to build helpful skills for your wellbeing. There’s no need to talk about your personal experiences or share your story. Instead, you’ll join a small group of up to 8 people and focus on learning practical skills through yoga and guided exercises each week — helping you leave feeling more grounded, active, and mentally clear.

Our Yoga Groups run every term at 5:30pm on Tuesdays for 6 weeks at no cost to you.

How It Helps

  • Ground yourself in the present with gentle stretches and breathing exercises.
  • Quiet racing thoughts and ease stress hormones so you feel more relaxed.
  • Over time, regular yoga practice can improve your mood, boost your focus, and help you sleep better.

What to Expect

  • A friendly, informal class where everyone learns at their own pace.
  • Simple yoga poses and relaxation techniques that complement your therapy work.
  • Small groups of up to 8 people plus a Yoga instructor.
  • These classes are free for our clients and prioritised to clients who need them most, but spots are limited — so book early to save your place.
  • Speak to your Psychologist if you are interested in joining one of our 5:30pm Tuesday 6-week Yoga group program.

Is the Yoga Group Care Pathway for Me?

The Yoga Group can be a great fit if you’re feeling stressed, tense, or overwhelmed and want practical ways to help your mind and body settle. It’s often helpful for people who are too much in their own head and wanting to feel calmer and more balanced.

Through gentle, guided yoga and simple mind-body techniques, you’ll learn ways to release tension, slow racing thoughts, and feel more grounded. Many people find they leave each session feeling calmer, clearer in their mind, and better able to handle the ups and downs of everyday life.

Best for: Stress, anxiety, mood swings, feeling overwhelmed.

Care Pathway Option 3: Sleep Coaching

Get the Rest You Need

Many of our clients find that 1:1 therapy is exactly what they need. Others benefit from a little extra support along the way. The good news is that we offer additional care pathways at no extra cost. If you’re not seeing progress within the first two sessions, your psychologist may suggest one of three options: our Mindfulness Group, Sleep Group, or Yoga Group. You’re always in control — you can choose to add one of these supports alongside your 1:1 therapy or continue with individual sessions on their own.

Lost sleep can make everything harder. Poor sleep fuels stress and anxiety, so our sleep coaching group helps break the cycle of sleepless nights and daytime worries. We use proven strategies (like those in CBT for Sleep) to help you build healthy sleep habits and calm your mind before bed. As your sleep improves, you’ll likely find you handle stress better and have more energy during the day.

Our 6-week Sleep Group, led by Clinical Psychologist Amelia Shanahan, is designed to help you improve your sleep using practical, evidence-based strategies. Like our other groups, there is no expectation to share your personal story. You simply join a small group and focus on learning proven techniques each week that can help you fall asleep more easily, stay asleep longer, and wake feeling more refreshed.

Our Sleep Group runs at 5:30pm on Mondays for 6 weeks at no cost to you.

We are currently refining this program and creating a wait list. We anticipate the Sleep Group will be available to clients in late 2026.

Why Sleep Matters

  • Good sleep is the foundation of mental health. When you’re rested, you manage emotions better and think more clearly.
  • Being well-rested helps you handle daily stress with more resilience and focus.
  • A lack of sleep can make anxiety and low mood feel worse.

What to Expect

  • Each week, we’ll review your sleep patterns and habits with you.
  • You’ll get practical tips: improving your sleep environment, setting a soothing bedtime routine, and managing the thoughts that keep you awake.
  • We may use tools like a sleep diary or gentle scheduling to build better sleep rhythms.
  • Many clients notice that after a few sessions, they fall asleep faster, sleep more deeply, and wake up feeling refreshed.
  • On average our clients’ sleep increases by 2 hours after the full program.
  • Speak to your Psychologist if you are interested in joining our Sleep Group.

Best for: Poor sleep, anxiety, low mood exacerbated by lack of sleep.
